Kalakandh (milk cake)

Kalakandh is a delicious Indian sweet. If you like rice pudding which is basically rice with milk, you will LOVE this recipe! it is soooooo good, and completely easy. My mother lived in a city in India called Bangalore, and she got this recipe from a next door neighbor who happened to be an excellent cook. This recipe sets in a 9x9 inch pan, any shape.

Ingredients:
2 cups milk
1 can condensed milk (400g)
2 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp tartaric acid (I used plane yogurt, about 2 cups, and it came out perfect! The tartaric acid is just to curdle the milk)

Method:
Boil milk with tartaric acid or what you are using to curdle the milk. When the milk starts to curdle, stir in the condensed milk and sugar, and continue curdling till every drop of water that is in the pan dries up, and leaves the sides. Take the mixture off the pan, and set in a dish, (preferably glass) until set. Decorate with almonds and pistachios. Cut into pieces and eat!
