Easy Jam Cookies

Okay, okay. Hats off to me. I have come up with THE BEST jammy cookies... my friends b-day took place recently, so i made some jam cookies, because they were easy, and looked tasty. well, i was right. they were great! everyone loved it, and people even asked for the recipe.

Instructions:
2oog/ 8 0z self rising flour
100g/ 4 0z golden brown sugar
100g/ 4 0z softened butter
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 tbsp jam

Instructions:
Pre-heat the oven to 190*c, fan 170*c
Rub the flour, sugar and butter until the mixture becomes like breadcrumbs. (you can do this in a blender or food processor) Add enough egg until the mixture forms a dough. Make a ball with the dough, and cover it with flour. Either roll the dough like a tube, or roll it out flat, about 1 cm and use cookie cutters to make a round shape. If you are rolling the dough, it should be 5cm/2in in diameter. cut it into 2cm/3/4in thick slices and place it on a greased baking tray. (i use parchment paper/wax paper) Space the slices so they are well apart, as the mixture will spread while baking. Make a small indentation in the middle of each slice with the end of a wooden spoon, and drop a teaspoon of jam in the centre. Bake for 10-15 min. Until the cookies are slightly risen and just golden. Cool. (your cookies DO NOT have to look like the one in the picture! it depends on what brand of ingredients you use!)
Note: You can use different kinds of jams as shown in the picture.
